(1) Molecular biology and cell engineering techniques for gene expression in mammalian hosts.

(2) Transcriptomic and other “omics” techniques, including sample preparation, instrument operation, and analysis starting from raw data.
(3) Application of machine learning algorithms to large, multi-dimensional datasets.
(4) Novel biomaterials and nanomaterials, with an emphasis on their application for biomedical applications.
(5) Animal disease models, including but not limited to: cancer, bacterial infection, aging, and neurological diseases (such as Alzheimer’s).
